1. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian handed over to Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a book translated into Farsi “Worship of the Mother- Worship of the Shrine”. This happened within the framework of the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to Iran. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's book is dedicated to the life path of his mother Ogulabat eje and reveals important aspects of the Turkmen mentality. In it, the author refers to folk art, parables and legends, emphasizing the link between upbringing and patriotism. Accepting the translated book, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he considered this gesture as a valuable gift to the Turkmen people and a sign of high respect for mothers. He emphasized that respect for parents is an aboriginal tradition of the Turkmen people.

2. Masoud Pezeshkian has accepted an invitation to visit Turkmenistan in October 2024 to participate in the International Forum of Heads of State and Government dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. The event will be held on October 11 in Ashgabat.

3. The National Leader of the Turkmen people met with the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei. During the meeting, the sides discussed strengthening of centuries-old ties between Turkmenistan and Iran based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, good-neighborliness and mutual respect. Ayatollah Khamenei warmly welcomed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and praised the dynamic development of relations between the two countries. In turn, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized the importance of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, noting that the current visit to Tehran is a testimony to the strategic importance of these relations.

4. Turkmenistan is ready to supply cement and other construction materials to the Republic of Tatarstan. This was announced by Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Serdar Jorayev at the ninth meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation. According to Jorayev, 2 cement plants were launched in Turkmenistan this year, each with a capacity of 1 million tons of products per year.

5. In Turkmenistan, about 240 thousand tons of waste from cotton harvest will be recycled for further paper production. Production of paper products from local raw materials, namely from agricultural waste and recycled textile production, is being established within the framework of the State Import Substitution Program. This makes it possible to produce paper products with a whiteness of over 85% for the production of premium-class paper and books.

6. A delegation from the Faculty of Tourism of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture went to Kazakhstan to participate in the regional training for future guides on the route of the Great Silk Road. The Turkmen delegation consisted of six students and a teacher.

7. A collection of props used in the making of the TV series “Friends” will be auctioned in Los Angeles, including an exact replica of the legendary sofa from the Central Perk coffee shop. It is estimated that its value could reach nearly 3000 USD. The auction will offer more than a hundred memorabilia involved in the filming of the popular sitcom. Among the lots will be presented interior items from the apartment Ross. Of particular interest are a mahogany dresser and a round pouffe in Moroccan style.

8. Toy manufacturer Lego has announced an ambitious plan to switch to sustainable materials. By 2026, the company aims to produce half of its plastic components from renewable or recycled materials. The move is part of Lego's larger strategy to completely divest from fossil resources by 2032. Although switching to alternative materials will increase production costs, the company is willing to invest in sustainability without raising prices for customers. To achieve this goal, Lego plans to enter into long-term contracts with producers of sustainable raw materials. The company has already tested more than 600 alternative materials in its search for optimal replacements for petroleum products.

9. The 17th Summer Paralympic Games have started in Paris and Turkmenistan's representative Mayagozel Ekeeva will take part in them. The experienced 38-year-old athlete will compete in the Para-powerlifting competition in the 86kg weight category September 8. Ekeeva is an International Master of Sports and already has experience of competing at the Paralympics. In 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, she took fifth place in the weight category up to 73 kg, lifting a barbell weighing 105 kg. This time the athlete moved to a heavier weight category, where her best result is 115 kg.
