The Hokkaido Tourism Organization plans to experiment with dual pricing this fall, offering discounts for Japanese. The city of Himeji is discussing raising the cost of tickets to the famous castle for foreigners by four times - to 30 USD, while reducing the price for locals to 5 USD. This decision is dictated by the need to preserve the historical monument, which suffers from an excessive influx of visitors.
