Katy Perry is at the center of a lawsuit with the relatives of 84 years old US Airborne veteran Carl Westcott. The subject of the dispute is a 1930s mansion in Montecito, which the artist purchased from Westcott in 2020 for 15 million USD. Snob.ru reports this with reference to the Daily Mail.

Shortly after the deal was concluded, the veteran tried to void it, claiming that he was under the influence of strong painkillers following back surgery. However, the court recognized Perry as the legal owner of the property.

Protracted litigation led to financial losses for the singer. She spent 6 million USD on renovations and, she says, missed out on an opportunity to make 3,5 million USD in rent on the house.

Now Perry is offering Westcott, who is now in hospice care, 9 million USD instead of the original 15 USD. The veteran's family insists on a personal meeting with the singer, considering her actions unfair.

This isn't the first time Katy Perry has found herself in a situation like this. She was previously involved in a dispute with nuns over the purchase of a Catholic convent for 14,5 million USD, which ended tragically. At one of the meetings, an 89 years old nun fainted and died. Afterwards, the last nun standing said that Katy Perry had "blood on her hands".
