1. 594 thousand 892 seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes were planted in Turkmenistan during the spring planting campaign on March 16. Along with measures to maintain cleanliness in park and forest areas and their improvement, 2 million 376 thousand 204 trees were taken care of on this day. The start of the greening campaign dedicated to the National Spring Day was given by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The head of state planted a young tree on the territory of the Magtymguly Fragi cultural and park complex. Then, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, together with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, took part in the landscaping of the capital's Archabil avenue in the area between the Constitution Monument and the Palace of Congresses, planting seven seedlings here. Their symbolic gesture was echoed by other participants in the action.

2. On March 17, a new shopping and entertainment center “Arkach” with a business center and underground parking, located on a total area of 4,7 hectares, opened in Ashgabat along Magtymguly avenue. The new shopping and entertainment center is a single architectural ensemble of several multi-level buildings with a central three-story building. The complex was built by specialists from the Ussat subsidiary. Along with numerous shops and a supermarket, visitors have at their disposal playgrounds, cinema halls, a children's entertainment town with slot machines, a beauty salon, a fitness room, a pharmacy, restaurants, cafes and other facilities.

3. The first day of a large-scale exhibition presenting the achievements and opportunities of the private sector of the economy of Turkmenistan ended at the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat. This year, more than 230 private companies, individual enterprises and manufacturers presented their expositions at the large-scale show. The current exhibition will last until March 19 inclusive. Upon completion of the review, its participants will be awarded the corresponding diplomas.

4. The turnout at the elections of the President of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan at the time the polls closed at 20:00 local time was 2 750 people. In total, five polling stations operated in Turkmenistan on March 17: in Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabad and Turkmenbashy.

Eco-ethnotourism is aimed at the responsible attitude of tourists towards the visited area, which minimizes the negative impact on the environment and contributes to the preservation of local traditions. This type of tourism involves traveling to remote regions, where you can get acquainted with the life and lifestyle of the indigenous people, try authentic cuisine, learn about crafts and hear local legends.

7. In the Chinese province of Hubei, in the area of the Three Gorges hydroelectric power station reservoir, new inhabitants have appeared - plants that have been in space. Chinese scientists chose a representative of the plantain family for the experiment. The seeds of this plant were sent to the “Tiangong” orbital station as part of the “Shenzhou-13” mission, where they successfully germinated and developed in space conditions. Several thousand rare and endangered plant species were planted at an experimental site in the Yangtze River basin, including 500 “space” plantains. Scientists will closely monitor their growth and development.

8. More than half of U.S. drivers do not trust self-driving cars, according to a study conducted by the American Automobile Association. The vast majority of people are afraid of autonomous cars, and a quarter of respondents feel insecure around robotic vehicles. The trust rate has dropped from 15% in 2022 to 9% in 2024. A number of serious accidents involving autonomous vehicles are fueling driver mistrust in the technology. For example, General Motors suspended the work of its Cruise division, which was engaged in the development of autonomous systems, after an accident with the company's drone, in which a woman was injured.

9. Turkmen freestyle wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov won a bronze medal at the representative international “Champions” tournament that ended in Antalya. Begenjov achieved this success in the weight category up to 74 kg. The prestigious international competitions in Antalya brought together about 350 of the strongest freestyle wrestlers from many countries. The bronze medal of Alp Arslan Begenjov became a significant contribution to the treasury of the Turkmen wrestling school and confirmed the high level of skill of Turkmen freestyle wrestlers on the world stage.

10. Turkmen judoist Serdar Rahimov won a silver medal in the weight category up to 66 kg at the European Open Championship, which was held these days in Riga. The Turkmenistan team at the European Open Championship in Riga was represented by 5 men and 3 women.
