During a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Tharaka Balasuriya, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sh. Geldynazarov discussed ways to expand cooperation between the countries, the press service of the foreign ministry reports.
The parties noted the potential for interaction in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. In particular, such promising areas as interparliamentary contacts, energy, transport, textile industry, tourism and education are highlighted.
Particular attention was paid to cultural relations. The Ambassador informed about the celebration at the international level of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, in connection with which 2024 in Turkmenistan has been declared the year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi.”
