The area of fire in Argentina's “Los Alerces” National Park, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, has grown by 80% and exceeded 1893 hectares. This is reported by gazeta.ru with reference to Nacion.

The fire quickly engulfed the primeval forest, which is home to rare plants and animals. Extinguishing is complicated by high air temperatures and strong winds.

“Los Alerces” National Park is located in southern Argentina. It was created in 1937 to protect rare plants and animals. The basis of the park's forest is made up of giant coniferous trees - Fitzroys, which are also called “Patagonian cypresses”. The age of rare specimens exceeds several thousand years.
