The international conference “Energy efficiency in Turkmenistan: Achieved successes and prospects” was held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
The two-day forum was attended by industry experts, specialized specialists in the field of energy policy from Turkmenistan, the EU, other Central Asian countries, interested representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as teachers and students of the university.
Thematic presentations were dedicated to the achievements of the Turkmen electric power industry, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
Forum participants exchanged best practices in implementing targeted projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
It was emphasized that in Turkmenistan, achieving energy security is among the top priorities. Ample opportunities are created here for the development of a “green” economy and the use of renewable energy sources.
The event was held within the framework of the Sustainable Energy Days 2023. The forum was organized by the EU Delegation within the framework of the project “Sustainable Energy Connections in Central Asia (SECCA)” together with the UNDP project “Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Awaza” with the support The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the hyakimlik of Mary velayat.
