Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council

The delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev took part in the 30th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, which was held in Skopje, reports the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria.

During the meeting, the representative of Turkmenistan emphasized the country's continued commitment to cooperation with the OSCE and respect for its fundamental values. He presented the goals, priorities and initiatives of Turkmenistan, emphasizing their compliance with the three dimensions of OSCE activities.

Turkmenistan's proposals include promoting border security through technological cooperation, creating a unified database for information exchange and strengthening professional dialogue.

Regarding the issue of climate change, Turkmenistan advocates a comprehensive Water Strategy for the countries of Central Asia and proposes the creation of a Regional Climate Technology Center for the region.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan confirmed the country’s readiness for an active and constructive dialogue with the OSCE, emphasizing Ashgabat’s commitment to overcoming regional challenges and promoting sustainable development.

The 30th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, which was held in Skopje from November 30 to December 1, 2023, brought together high-level delegates from 57 OSCE participating States. This important meeting provided a platform for foreign ministers to discuss pressing security issues in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian regions and evaluate the comprehensive activities of the organization.
