Nutritionist: Cereals are not the best choice for daily breakfast

Cereals with milk for breakfast, despite its speed of preparation, are not the healthiest option for a morning meal. About this writes “AiF” with reference to “FederalPress”.

Nutritionist Natalya Kruglova explained that the cereal is made from highly processed grains that are stripped of most nutrients such as B vitamins, zinc and iron. In addition, the cereal contains a lot of sugar, which increases its calorie content. Sugar is often labeled as glucose or fructose syrup on packaging.

According to the expert, frequent consumption of cereal can lead to a deficiency of dietary fiber, which can negatively affect the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. The nutritionist also compared breakfast cereals with rich pastries.
