We continue to talk about social work specialists operating in Turkmenistan.

Aybolek Hudayberdiyeva works as the head of the department of social workers at the Institution of Social Services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan.

As Aybolek says, along with learning the theoretical aspects of social work, she improved her communication skills to work with vulnerable people and became more aware of her role in improving the lives of others.

“It is important to make our society inclusive so that vulnerable people have more opportunities to participate in the life of their community,” she stressed.

In addition to direct job duties, Aybolek works as a supervisor of social work specialists in Ashgabat, since this work is important and interesting for her.

The profession of a social worker involves interaction with various groups of the population, therefore, in a team of social workers, you can meet professionals of different ages and with different previous experience. This is due to the fact that this profession requires strong communication skills, organizational skills, it also has an information function, evaluative, predictive, preventive and human rights functions. Professionals with such competencies can further develop their careers in state systems of labor and social protection, education, healthcare, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, local executive authorities, as well as in public organizations and enterprises as social work specialists.

As we previously reported, in the new academic year at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, a new course in the direction of "social work" will be opened, for which 10 people will be recruited for training.
