In the new academic year, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the Turkmen Pedagogical Institute named after Seyidi in the city of Turkmenabat open a new undergraduate course in the direction of "social work", since this specialty is always in demand in modern society.

According to the press service of UNICEF, Mahri Rejepova has been working as a social work specialist for the third year. Before that, she was always interested in professions where there is an opportunity to interact with people. Despite her higher economic education, she additionally took courses in psychology and pedagogy.
In 2020, Myahri joined the team of professionals who completed retraining programs and became the first social work specialists of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan. This group consisted of 45 specialists who started working within the framework of the Joint Program between the UN and the Government of Turkmenistan on inclusive quality social services at the local level. Like many other successful candidates, Myahri was hired and contributed to the transformation of the social service delivery system in the country.
Myahri says:
“For three years, we have been working effectively in cooperation with the relevant state bodies and public organizations on the basis of the adopted Law on social services and other regulatory legal acts that are aimed at improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable groups of people in difficult life situations, eliminating obstacles to their full participation in the life of society, we help to overcome difficult life situations on their own, improving the condition of people.”
