During the celebration of independence, a regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will be held in Ashgabat, which will review the successes and achievements in the development of a sovereign state, the results of the work performed, and discuss important tasks based on the requirements of the time, new economic conditions. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers based on the results of the first half of the year, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports today.
“In this context, the Halk Maslahaty and the Mejlis, together with the Cabinet of Ministers, hakimliks, relevant ministries, sectoral departments, public organizations, should carefully prepare for the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan,” the head of state said, noting the expediency of making a decision on the formation and approval of the composition of the organizational committee to convene the next meeting of this highest representative body, to determine the date of the upcoming event and to hold it at a high level.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also ordered to carry out relevant work to present citizens who have contributed to the country's success in the political, economic and cultural spheres, enjoying great prestige among the people, to state awards and conferring honorary titles on them. This work should be carried out on the basis of the decision of the Halk Maslahaty, and then the Mejlis.
