Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojagulyev declared his readiness to participate in the events of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (TSDUM) of Russia and accepted the invitation to attend the celebrations dedicated to the 235th anniversary of the TSDUM. He said this during the joint summit of the spiritual leaders of Muslims of Turkmenistan and Russia, at which issues of cooperation and interaction in the Eurasian space were discussed, bashinform.ru reports.
The event was held online. It was held by agreement between the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and the Muftiate of Turkmenistan. It was attended by the Supreme Mufti of Russia, Chairman of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Russian Federation Talgat Tadzhuddin, the Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojagulyev, representatives of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan, the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate and the Muftiate of Turkmenistan.
The Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin invited representatives of the Muftiate of Turkmenistan to the celebration of the 235th anniversary of the founding of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, which is scheduled for autumn 2023.
In response, Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojagulyev noted the importance of interaction with the Muslims of Russia and expressed hope that the ongoing meeting would strengthen ties between the countries and peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan.
The participants of the bilateral summit of muftis discussed the main areas of interaction between the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia and the Muftiate of Turkmenistan for 2023-2024 and the issue of forming a joint bilateral contact group for cooperation. The participation of the Muftiate of Turkmenistan as an observer in the Eurasian Association for the Promotion of Islamic Education was also discussed.
