Turkmenistan traditionally celebrates the Turkmen Carpet Day on a grand scale. On this occasion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed congratulations to the carpet weavers and compatriots.
The national art of carpet weaving originated in the mists of time and has survived to this day thanks to the selfless work and talent of Turkmen women, the President noted.
Today, the traditions of national carpet weaving are on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and this fact clearly indicates that the products of our skilled craftswomen are recognized as man-made monuments of beautiful art.
“In our sovereign Motherland, special attention is paid to the development of the art of carpet weaving, famous in the world, the necessary conditions are being created for its wide popularization and improvement, restoration and preservation of ancient carpets”, - the head of state emphasized.
The congratulatory Address also notes that the XXIII Conference of the World Association of Connoisseurs of the Turkmen Carpet “Turkmen Carpet – the Soul of Turkmens” is starting today.
“I am convinced that the traditional conference of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs will fully demonstrate national achievements and successes in carpet weaving, a unique art worthy of continuing by our craftswomen, and will also permit us to exchange views on issues of interest and intensify partnerships!”, - the President of Turkmenistan noted.
Wishing good health, longevity, inexhaustible happiness, family well-being, success in work and life to skilled carpet weavers, the head of state concluded:
“Let the carpet daraks of our craftswomen always sound high and rhythmically!”
