The compositions of the semi-final pairs of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship have become known. In the 1/2 finals, the US team will meet with the German team, Canada will play with Latvia. Both games will be played on May 27th.
At the quarter-final stage, the Latvian team defeated the Swedish team with a score of 3:1, the Canadians beat the Finns with a score of 4:1, the Germans defeated the Swiss with a score of 3:1, and the US team beat the Czech team with a score of 3:0.
The World Championship takes place in Finnish Tampere and Riga. The tournament will end with medal games on Sunday, May 28.
It is worth noting that the US team has not played in the World Cup finals since 1934, the German team since 1930. Latvia for the first time in its history reached the semi-finals of the world championship. The Canadian team took second place at the World
Championships last year, losing in the final to Finland (4:3 OT).
