1. On Friday, at the Hezreti Omar mosque, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the day of commemoration of dear mother and grandmother Ogulabat Berdimuhamedov gave sadaka-agzachar. As previously reported, Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova passed away last week at the age of 86. As noted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, his mother Ogulabat eje, just like his father Myalikguly aga, passed away to the eternal world in the holy month of Ramadan, which is considered the grace of the Almighty.
2. At the end of 2022, Turkmenistan took second place in the list of the main exporters of tomatoes to Russia. Turkmenistan moved up to second place with a 14% share of imports. In 2021, Turkmenistan was in fourth place in the export of tomatoes to Russia. But Türkiye, which was then second, in 2022 dropped one line lower. Azerbaijan remained the main importer with a share of 37%.
3. Ambassador of Belarus to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty met with representatives of the “Minsk Automobile Plant” JSC. A representative delegation of “MAZ” JSC arrived in Ashgabat. During the meeting, issues of the current cooperation of the Belarusian automobile manufacturing company with partners in Turkmenistan, including after-sales service of vehicles, as well as the functioning of the Belarusian Technology Center in Ashgabat and the representative office of “MAZ” JSC in Turkmenistan, were discussed.
4. The performance “Profitable Place” by the Ashgabat youth theater “ArtIst” was successfully held at the site of the XXV International Festival of Russian Theaters “Meetings in Russia”, which takes place in St. Petersburg. A creative team from Turkmenistan presented to the attention of the participants and guests of the festival a modernized version of the play by Alexander Ostrovsky. Also, to familiarize the participants of the festival with the traditions and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, artists from Ashgabat prepared a separate performance. In Turkmen national costumes, they performed the ancient dance “Kushtdepdi”, included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. For active participation in the creative forum, the “ArtIst” team was awarded a diploma from the International Festival in St. Petersburg.
5. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to India Shalar Geldynazarov took part in the first meeting of the Joint Working Group on the issues of the Chabahar port, which was held within the framework of the multilateral format “Central Asia-India”. The Chabahar port is a significant link in the North-South transport corridor and an important part of the Ashgabat Agreement. The port is of particular importance for the development of trade relations between India and the countries of Central Asia, as well as for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

6. The CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev was awarded the State Award of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the “Dostyk” Order of the first degree. This high and honorary award was presented to Sergey Lebedev on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu during a working meeting in Samarkand. The award was presented on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
7. Elon Musk announced the start of monetization of user-generated content on Twitter. According to him, you can start monetization on Twitter for any content, including voluminous content - from large texts to hours-long videos - just one click on the “Monetization” button in the account settings. During the first year, the funds from monetization paid by subscribers will be received by users in full minus the commission charged by payment systems.

8. Ashgabat “Kopetdag” started with a victory in the new draw of the championship of Turkmenistan on football. In the first round of the national championship “Kopetdag” beat “Shagadam” from Turkmenbashi. The game was held in the Turkmen capital at the Ashgabat stadium and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the home team. The striker of the “Kopetdag” football club Yazklych Kurbanov became the author of the first goal in the championship of Turkmenistan in the 2023 season.
9. Following the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS, held on April 14 in Samarkand, it was decided to give Minsk the status of the sports capital of the CIS. The corresponding decision was approved by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries. Next year, the status of the sports capital of the CIS will be transferred to the Armenian Gyumri. Also, during the meeting, a number of decisions were made in the field of cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth.
