The bronze medal in the snatch was won by Gulalek Kakamyradova from Turkmenistan at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Durres (Albania). She achieved this success in the weight category up to 64 kg, in which 14 weightlifters from 14 countries competed for awards.
In the snatch, Gulalek Kakamyradova lifted 88 kg. However, in the clean and jerk, she showed the fifth result (101 kg) and eventually took fifth place (189 kg). The winner of the world championship was Tanaporn Saetia (Thailand) - 206 kg (93 + 113). The second place was taken by Taisiya Alekseeva (Kazakhstan) - 201 kg (89+112). And the top three was closed by Ingrid Segura (Colombia) - 194 kg (86 + 108).
In 2022, at the World Youth Championship in Leon (Mexico), Gulalek Kakamyradova with a result of 165 kg (74+91) took ninth place in the weight category up to 59 kg.
268 athletes from 57 countries are participating in the current junior world championship in weightlifting. The competition started on March 25 and will end on April 1. The competition is an annual event and is held under the auspices of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
The team of Turkmenistan at the youth world championship in Albania under the leadership of Gurbandurdy Amanov and Ahmed Sariyev is represented by 9 weightlifters. After five days of competition, the national team of Turkmenistan with 10 medals (6 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze) takes 2nd place in the team standings, second only to the Philippine team, which has 12 medals (7 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze).
