1. Mobile Internet 4G from “Altyn asyr” appeared in new settlements of Turkmenistan. The expansion of the geography and improvement of the coverage of the LTE network for “Altyn asyr” subscribers was due to the use of new base stations. The work was carried out in almost all velayats of the country. The expansion of LTE services makes it possible to use the mobile Internet much more actively. Taking into account the growing demands of the population, the operator plans to provide Turkmenistan with full and widespread mobile communications, including 4G, and in the near future, 5G as well.

2. The Turkmen National Institute of World Languages will hold the first Olympiad in the Russian language among students in grades 9-11. The Olympics will be held in two rounds. The first round will be held remotely, and the second one within the walls of the institute.

3. Representatives of the Government Commission for the Study of Issues Related to Turkmenistan's Accession to the World Trade Organization completed their studies at the Winter Academy. The courses were held in Switzerland by the World Trade Institute. The training was held in three areas. Each of the course participants completed the program most appropriate to their specialization.

4. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, took part in a high-level meeting in the “Central Asia – USA” format, which was held in Astana. The meeting was attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues, including economic and energy cooperation, climate change, and countering terrorism.

5. 50 Toyota Corolla cars replenished the taxi fleet of the “Ahalawtoulag” production association, which is part of the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency. From March 1, new cars will begin to serve residents and guests of settlements in the Ahal velayat.

6. Joint Turkmen-Russian school named after A.S. Pushkin in Ashgabat received 8 thousand textbooks from Russia. The transfer of school textbooks was held within the framework of the state program “Development of Education”. According to the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in Turkmenistan, Yulia Zaitseva, the textbooks correspond to the federal state education standard of the Russian Federation.

7. The National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly hosted a concert of classical music performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the baton of the Italian composer and conductor Claudio Vandelli.

8. The next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS states will be held in June 2022 in Sochi. According to CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, the meeting will be held tentatively on June 7-8 in Sochi at the suggestion of the Russian side. The heads of government will exchange views on topical issues of economic cooperation.

9. Starting March 1, Hong Kong authorities will lift the mandatory wearing of masks indoors and outdoors. The requirement to wear masks will remain only for the staff of medical and some administrative institutions.

10. Turkmen mixed martial arts fighter Dovletjan Yagshimuradov finished the training camp before the fight with Lithuanian Julius Anglickas as part of the Bellator 292 tournament. The light heavyweight fight between the fighters will take place on March 10 at the “SAP Center” arena in San Jose, California.

11. Bronze medals were awarded to Turkmen tennis players at the junior tournament for the Billie Jean King Cup for players under the age of 16, which ended in Colombo. Turkmenistan was represented at this tournament by Meryem Muhammedova, Aisha Bikbulatova and Natalya Martynova. In the playoffs, the representatives of Turkmenistan confidently prevailed over the Malaysian team, but in the semifinals they lost to the tennis players of Sri Lanka. In the match for the third place, the national team of Turkmenistan defeated the team of Singapore and won bronze medals.

12. The men's team of Turkmenistan will take part in the Asian Cup in 3x3 basketball. The tournament with the participation of the strongest Asian teams will be held from March 29 to April 2 in Singapore. At present, the basketball players, members of the national team of Turkmenistan, hold training camps in Lithuania.

It should be noted that the national team, when seeded, was included in the qualifying group B - along with New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Tonga. To enter the main draw of the tournament, Turkmen basketball players need to take first place in the qualifying subgroup.
