The meeting of the UN Office in Turkmenistan with the permanent representatives of the country to the UN in New York, as well as the UN offices in Geneva and Vienna was held.
As reports the UN press service, during the meeting, issues of strategic cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were discussed.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko briefed the participants on the priorities of the UN Country Team, emphasizing the areas of strategic cooperation in which the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan to the UN in New York, Geneva and Vienna could play a decisive role.
This includes the forthcoming Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan, which will be presented next year, further integration of the SDGs into national programs and policies, financing of the SDGs, as well as monitoring and reporting on the progress of the implementation of the SDGs and cooperation in promoting human rights and gender equality.
