A team of Russian scientists has developed a self-cleaning road with functional curbs that can be used to divert water and melted snow. The innovative solution was presented at the project-educational intensive “Archipelago 2022”. As the developers of the project noted, the elements of the road surface and infrastructure are made using injection molding technology at the work site or industrially.
The new technology can also be used to cover parking lots, bicycle, sports and park paths, sidewalks, and for the manufacture of small architectural forms and the strengthening of embankments. The development was based on specially created Russian-made polymers, and prototypes of materials for innovative asphalt and curbs have already been developed, reports ixbt.com.
