Authors from Turkmenistan has a chance to win a trip to New-York by participating in the film contest “Shoot in 48 hours”

Cinematographers from Turkmenistan are invited to participate in the competition of short films “Shoot in 48 hours”.

This is an annual competition of teams of cinematographers from Central Asia. Any interested citizen of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, both professionals and amateurs, can apply.

Registration of participants will continue till July 7 inclusive, you need to register the team by following the link.

In accordance with the terms of the competition, participants must create a short film of up to four minutes in 48 hours.

In 2022 the competition will start on July 9. Teams will receive a task at 10:00 Almaty time. Works created in the framework of the competition will pass two selection levels: short-list top-48 works and final voting of the international jury. All films, made in accordance with the conditions, will be shown in the movie theatres and posted on Youtube channel of the competition.

The winner of the “Best Film” nomination will go to New York for an intensive course on making a film lasting 1 month. The winners in the categories “Best Student Film” and “Best Amateur Film” will receive free online NYFA scholarships in the following areas to choose from: filmmaking, screenwriting, producing, editing/postproduction, cinematography, etc.

In addition to the main nominations, the winners in genre categories will also be determined: “Best Comedy”, “Best Action”, “Best Drama/Romance”, “Best Horror/Thriller”, “Best Science Fiction/Fantasy” and “Best Musical/Experimental Film”.

The “Shoot in 48 Hours” competition has been held since 2015 with the support of the US Diplomatic Mission in Kazakhstan.
