In Nur-Sultan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tleuberdi discussed preparation for the VI Caspian Summit to be held in Turkmenistan in 2022.
According to the Press Service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the talks took place on the sidelines of the 3rd Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the People's Republic of China.
During the conversation, the parties discussed regional policy as well as exchanged views on topical international issues.
The leaders of the Turkmen and Kazakh diplomacy highly appreciated the prospects of using the potential of the two countries in building up bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as in the interests of developing regional and international partnerships. In this context, special attention was paid to the need to maximize the use of modern land and sea transport infrastructure available in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
The importance of continuing joint activity in such areas as energy, agriculture, and industrial cooperation was also noted.
To recap, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is in the capital of Kazakhstan on June 7-8 by special Order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to participate in the work of the next, Third Meeting of Foreign Ministers "Central Asia - China", as well as to hold bilateral meetings.
