The head of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, congratulated the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, on Freedom Day, reports the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan” today.
“The head of state taking this pleasant opportunity, expressed sincere wishes to President Cyril Ramaphosa for good health, happiness and prosperity, and to the people of the Republic of South Africa - peace, progress and prosperity,” says the message.
Freedom Day in South Africa is celebrated on April 27. It was established in honor of the country's first democratic elections in 1994, which were won by Nelson Mandela. This day is considered the day of the liberation of the Republic of South Africa from the rule of apartheid - a system of racial segregation implemented in those days by the white minority for decades.
