Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs nominated its candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan

Nomination of a candidate for the upcoming Presidential elections of Turkmenistan on March 12 was the main item on the agenda of the III Extraordinary Congress of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (PPPT), held in Ashgabat today, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

Leaders and members of the Party, representatives of public organizations as well as mass media attended the meeting, held in the Conference Hall of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Resulting from the discussions, Babamyrat Meredov, Director of the Vepaly Gurlushik Economic Society, was nominated as a candidate for the post of President of the country from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

After graduating from the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in 2001, B. Meredov taught computer science at the Beki Seitakov Pedagogical School in Dashoguz until April 2012. Since October 2012, B.Meredov has been the Head of the Economic Society Vepaly Gurlushik.

Members of the Party justified their decision by the fact that Babamyrat Meredov has high business and organizational capabilities, enjoys the respect of the business community, and he has also such personal qualities as modesty and responsiveness, adherence to family values and healthy lifestyle.

The participants of the meeting unanimously decided to nominate B. Meredov as a candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan.

After the voting procedure at the meeting of the III Extraordinary Congress of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, a corresponding Resolution was adopted and sent to the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan.

To recap, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan was established on August 21, 2012. Currently, it has more than 25 thousand members. Party branches were established in all regions of the country and include numerous primary organizations.

The PPPT has its representatives in the National Parliament.

The Economic Strategy of Turkmenistan, designed for 30 years, identifies purposeful use of the capacity of the non-state sector of the national economy among the priorities.
