In January 2022, a Boeing 737-800 of the Tajik airline “Somon Air” made its first technical landing at Kerki International Airport. A video report on this was shown on the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television.
After ground handling and refueling, the aircraft continued its flight to the country of destination.
International Airport of Kerki was commissioned in June 2021. The air harbor can serve 100 passengers per hour. The aircraft parking area can simultaneously accommodate two medium-sized or one large-sized airline and four helicopters. All conditions have been created here for the work of personal and for serving passengers. The airport was built by the specialists of IE “Gundogdy”.
Let us remind you, that on January 3, planes began flying from Kerki to Ashgabat. Regular flights between the cities will be operated twice a week.
