The power transmission line in the direction of Mary HPP – Herat city (Afghanistan) is ready for commissioning, reports: “Turkmenistan The Golden Age”.

Its commissioning is scheduled for August this year.

The 220-kilovolt transmission line is one of the stages of construction of the interstate power main – the high-voltage power transmission line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan.

The Turkish company “Çalik Enerji” is the general contractor and investor of the construction of the 260-kilometer section of the power line. The line was laid by Turkmen specialists. The builders installed 876 high-voltage poles on time and hung wires on the entire highway. Also, the power engineers have completed the expansion of the open switchgear at the Mary GRES. The 220/110/10 kilovolt transformer substation in Serhetabat remains an unfinished project.

By the end of May, the work here will be completed in accordance with the schedule. To ensure reliable operation of power lines, the Turkmen section will be equipped with remote control communication systems and more advanced relay protection that meets international standards.

We remind you that at the meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan on May 7, the President of the country stated the average performance of construction work over the past four months, gave instructions to Deputy Prime Minister Shamuhammet Durdylyev to increase the pace and efficiency of work in the construction and industrial sector.

The Head of State noted that it is necessary to continue work on the creation of an energy ring within the country and the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line.
