Turkmenistan and UNICEF discuss joint action plans for 2021

Draft work plans for joint activities for 2021 with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan were discussed during an online meeting.

From Turkmen side, it was attended by representatives of the national Parliament, the Institute of state, law and democracy, the Ombudsman's office, ministries of foreign Affairs, health and medical industries, education, justice, interior, Finance, economy, sports and youth policy, labor and social protection of population, State statistics Committee and State Committee for TV, radio broadcasting and cinematography.

The above-mentioned work plans are aimed at strengthening relations in the field of children's health, balanced nutrition, social protection, as well as improving public administration in this area.

Action plans for 2021 are being developed as part of the implementation of the Country cooperation program between Turkmenistan and the UN Children's Fund for 2021-2025. Based on priority areas of cooperation, this Program is a contribution of UNICEF to national efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, in particular the sustainable development Goals for children.

Our country has joined the basic international legal instruments in this area. Joint activities with UNICEF are designed to contribute to the further implementation of the socio-economic development strategy and the National action plan on children's rights for 2018-2022, developed on behalf of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Highly appreciating the level of development of Turkmenistan's partnership with UNICEF, the participants of the video meeting expressed their readiness to continue working together, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports today.
