FAO organized a web meeting in Turkmenistan on the food industry in the context of the pandemic

The regional office for the Middle East and North Africa of the Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO) initiated online consultations for Turkmen specialists on organizing trade operations in the food industry, selling and purchasing agricultural products in the global epidemiological situation. This is reported by the state publishing service of Turkmenistan. 

Specialists from the ministries of agriculture and environmental protection, health and medical industry, Finance and economy, trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the chamber of Commerce and industry, the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of the country took part in the consultations.

The event was supported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting provided an overview of the current situation on food markets in various regions of the world, the rules for implementing agreements and contracts in the new conditions. Consultations were held on a wide range of issues of mutual interest for international economists, agricultural producers, freight forwarders and distributors, and specialists involved in developing logistics relationships between export and import flows.

They spoke about the requirements for the process of storing and processing agricultural products, as well as about the sale of domestic crop and livestock products in the country and on export routes.

The participants agreed on the need to develop schemes of interaction and cooperation, both for today and in the future.
