Turkmenistan and WHO discussed problems of TB diagnosis

Issues of laboratory diagnostics of tuberculosis were discussed today in the building of the UN Office in Ashgabat at an online meeting with a representative of the world health organization.

Turkmenistan was represented by specialists from the Ministry of health and medical industry, the center for treatment and prevention of tuberculosis of the Department of centers of infectious diseases of this Ministry, as well as The Turkmen state medical University named after M. Garryev.

It was noted that the country has made significant and recognized progress in protecting public health in the prevention and control of infectious diseases. WHO highly appreciated these achievements, which is reflected in special certificates.

The steps taken by Turkmenistan to regularly carry out mass immunization and medical examinations of the population are yielding positive results, contributing to the health of citizens.

Our country initiates close long-term cooperation with its foreign partners, advocating for building up a fruitful dialogue with the UN and its specialized agencies, including WHO, as well as with the world's leading medical centers, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
