The coaching staff of the Turkmenistan national football team decided on the final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches with the teams of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea. Seven players were excluded from the preliminary squad.
On September 5, theTurkmenistan national football team will play in Colombo with the team of Sri Lanka, and on September 10 in Ashgabat will host the national team of the Republic of Korea. The group has five teams: Turkmenistan, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Lebanon and the DPRK. The most formidable force of this quintet is, of course, the South Koreans, they appeared more often than other national teams in the World Cup (10 times) and are the only team from Asia to participate in the semifinals of the World Cup.
The match with the Republic of Korea will be special for the national team of Turkmenistan because it will be held within the native walls. The match will take place at the Kopetdag Stadium in Ashgabat.
