A delegation of doctors from Turkmenistan visited the "Juventa" Center in St. Petersburg

A delegation of healthcare professionals from Turkmenistan visited the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “Juventa City Advisory and Diagnostic Center for Children (reproductive health), "the Admiralteysky District news" the online newspaper reported.

According to information, the Turkmenistan delegation included representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan, as well as the chief obstetrician-gynecologist and the chief pediatrician of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of our country. 

The main purpose of the working visit was to get acquainted with the structure and services of the "Juventa" Center as the first Russian center for the reproductive health of adolescents and youth. Note that the center has been operating since 1993. Representatives of the health care system of Turkmenistan are considering the possibility of creating a separate medical center for adolescents, which can be addressed with diseases of the reproductive system.

During the tour, the specialists of the "Juventa" Center told the Turkmen guests about the main historical stages of the formation of the structure and the possibilities of the institution in providing comprehensive assistance, shared their experience in organizing work, showed the possibilities of a psychological and psychotherapeutic service that provides assistance to adolescents in individual, group consultations, and by trust line. 

Turkmenistan has implemented a number of important programs in terms of reproductive health, pursuing a targeted population policy that provides for the best conditions for the protection of healthy motherhood and childhood. The National Strategy for Improving Maternal, Newborn, Children and Adolescent Health Services is being consistently implemented as one of the priority areas of health policy.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan was the first among the CIS countries to adopt the National Reproductive Health Strategy. As part of the partnership with the UN, joint conferences on family planning and reproductive health are held, profile rooms have been created in all regions of the country.
