The first child born in Turkmenistan in 2026 was a boy named Atamurat, born to the Gaipov family. The infant was born early in the morning of January 1 at the Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health in Ashgabat, according to the online newspaper "Golden Age."

The newborn weighed 3.1 kg and measured 48 cm. According to doctors, the baby's condition is satisfactory.

The family received commemorative gifts on behalf of the head of state, the National Leader, and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.
