Within the framework of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's working visit to the United States, a business forum entitled "Turkmen-American Business Cooperation: New Opportunities and Prospects for Partnership Development" was held, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The event was attended by government and business representatives from both countries, including the leadership of John Deere, General Electric, SpaceX, Oppenheimer Holdings Inc., as well as the World Bank and the IMF.
Forum participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including infrastructure modernization, the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies, and the development of renewable energy.
The deputy head of the “Turkmengaz” state concern presented a report on long-term partnership opportunities aimed at improving regional energy security and diversifying export routes.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan spoke about the country's favorable investment climate. American businessmen confirmed their interest in participating in Turkmenistan's socioeconomic development programs.
Particular attention is paid to cooperation in the processing industry, high technology, digitalization, and cybersecurity.
The central topic of discussion was the activities of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council, established in 2008. The council's executive director, Eric Stewart, noted its role in strengthening relations between the two countries' private sector entities.
The forum included bilateral meetings on expanding cooperation.
