Three large chemical plants will be built in different regions of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for a mineral fertilizer plant at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmenabat Chemical Plant.
"A urea production complex is planned to be built in the Turkmenbashi district of the Balkan velayat, the second stage of a gasoline-to-gasoline plant in Ahal, and a mineral fertilizer plant in the Mary district of the Mary velayat. "The implementation of such major projects in the country is evidence of the enormous attention being paid to the development of the chemical industry," the head of state said. According to the President, the chemical industry is one of the key sectors of Turkmenistan's economy. Currently, the country has a number of large chemical enterprises operating effectively, producing high-quality products from local raw materials. Large investments are being made and modern technologies are being implemented to develop the industry. Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that productive work is underway to establish new production facilities in the domestic chemical industry.
