During his visit to Doha, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the Qatari leader conveyed words of greetings and deep respect to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Emir of Qatar expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the support provided to his country and people. He emphasized the high level of fraternal relations between the states and noted the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas.
The parties particularly noted the importance of interaction between the two countries in the international arena within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
