During the meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Islamabad Atajan Movlamov and the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Junaid Anwar, ways of effectively using the transit and logistics potential of the seaports of Turkmenbashy, Karachi and Gwadar were discussed.
According to the website of the Turkmen embassy, these ports are of strategic importance for regional trade and transport links.
The parties also noted the broad prospects for cooperation in the development of railway infrastructure, which could play a key role in ensuring sustainable transport links between the countries of the region.
The importance and relevance of multilateral cooperation, especially in utilizing Pakistan’s strategic location as a bridge to strengthen the region’s economic ties, was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive dialogue in the identified areas.
