The White House has published a list of foreign leaders who supported the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. The information was posted on the social network X.
The American president's candidacy for the award was supported by seven countries: Israel, Cambodia, Gabon, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan and Rwanda.
Earlier, in June, Republican Congressman Buddy Carter sent a letter to the Nobel Committee proposing Trump's candidacy for the Peace Prize. The appeal notes the US president's historic role in diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.
The Pakistani government also nominated Trump, citing his diplomatic brokering in the region. The Pakistani government stressed that the American leader had "demonstrated outstanding statesmanship" by engaging diplomatically with different parties simultaneously.
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in the field of strengthening peace between nations, reducing standing armies or promoting peace congresses.
