The development of joint programs in the field of artificial intelligence, space research and digitalization will increase the effectiveness of economic cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China. This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the second Central Asia – China summit in Astana.

"A few words about innovative cooperation. We expect more focused attention to this area from our Chinese partners. We are convinced that the launch of joint programs and projects in the application of artificial intelligence, satellite and space research, digitalization, information platforms, the entire line of software, and a number of other technological segments can significantly increase the effectiveness of our economic cooperation,” the State News Agency of Turkmenistan quotes the head of Turkmenistan as saying.

According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, innovative cooperation will help create a sustainable market for technological services in Central Asia and will facilitate the exchange of specialists and methods, and the accelerated development of national technological schools.

“This strategic task is an investment in the future of relations between Central Asia and the People’s Republic of China within the framework of a large project of joint development and progress,” the head of Turkmenistan emphasized.

The second “Central Asia-China” summit was held on June 17 in Astana. The event was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the leaders of all five Central Asian republics – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The first summit in this format was held in 2023 in Xi'an, China.
