President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping discussed the strategic nature of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in particular in the area of exporting Turkmen natural gas to China, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
“As it is known, Turkmenistan and China have been cooperating in the fuel and energy sector for many years, in particular in the area of exporting Turkmen natural gas to a friendly country,” the statement said.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuing the energy partnership based on mutual benefit and equal cooperation, noting many years of experience of interaction in this area.
The meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping took place on Tuesday on the sidelines of the second Central Asia-China summit in Astana.
