Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Venezuela took place in Ashgabat today. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova, and the Venezuelan delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Tatiana Pyu Morena.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the parties noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Venezuela is developing on the basis of principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership.

Noting the importance of bilateral contacts within the framework of various visits and international events, M. Bashimova emphasized the importance of such discussions for identifying specific areas of cooperation.
The meeting participants expressed a common desire to intensify trade and economic cooperation, including in such areas as energy, the oil and gas industry, green technologies and agriculture.
Special attention was paid to the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of culture and education. Possible initiatives for exchanging cultural programs and organizing joint educational projects aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed.
The organization and holding of events to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Venezuela were also discussed.
