On May 31, the “Marathon of Peace and Trust” was successfully held in the capital of Turkmenistan, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan jointly with the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports and Ashgabat hyakimlik within the framework of the celebration of Europe Day 2025. The event was attended by 517 people.
The race took place around Independence Park from 07:00 to 11:00. The start and finish were located at the intersection of Turkmenbashy avenue and 10 ýyl Abadançylyk (Moskovskaya) street.
The organisers provided three distances for participants of different age categories. The 2 km race was organised for children under 16 accompanied by adults, and the 5 km and 10 km distances were intended for participants over 16.
The necessary infrastructure was organized for the participants: a special food area for children, as well as watering points and fruit snacks for runners at 5 km and 10 km distances.
Winners and active participants were awarded prizes and memorable gifts. The program of the event also included entertaining competitions and sports activities, which added a special atmosphere to the holiday.
