HBO has announced the names of the actors who will play the main roles in the Harry Potter series. The show is scheduled to premiere no earlier than 2026, Film.ru reports with reference to Variety.
The role of Harry Potter went to Dominic McLaughlin, Hermione Granger will be played by Arabella Stanton, and Ron Weasley will be played by Alastair Stout. It is known that more than 30 thousand children took part in the casting. Filming of the series will begin this summer in the UK.
Earlier, such actors as John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall) and Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape) joined the project. Francesca Gardiner (Succession) and Mark Mylod (Menu) are working on the script for the series. The exact release date of the series will be announced later.
