On April 28, the first ministerial forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on sustainable development began in the city of Arkadag, at the Markav hotel, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports. The event is attended by high-ranking representatives of ECO member states, international organizations, as well as diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan and national ministries.
The goal of the forum is to strengthen partnership in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the ECO. Participants will discuss practical steps to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop a cooperation strategy, identifying priority areas. Following the forum, it is planned to adopt an official document that will become the basis for further steps in the field of sustainable development of the region.
