President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdy Ashirov took part in the Global Ministerial Dialogue on Science Diplomacy, which was held on March 25-26 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris under the motto “Science diplomacy in a rapidly changing world: strengthening peace in the minds of men and women.”
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum was organized within the framework of the International Decade of Science for Sustainable Development (2024–2033) and brought together ministers, diplomats and leading scientists from around the world to discuss the role of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges, strengthening international cooperation and promoting the principles of sustainable development.
During the meetings, the participants considered key issues related to scientific cooperation, accessibility of scientific data, research safety and the use of science as a tool for peaceful dialogue.
A Joint Ministerial Statement was adopted following the meeting.
