On the sidelines of the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and ECO Secretary General Asad Majid Khan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The ECO Secretary General noted the growing role of Turkmenistan in the ECO and expressed satisfaction with the country's hosting of a number of significant regional and international events. Asad Majid Khan voiced proposals to improve the effectiveness of the ECO and called on Turkmenistan to support these initiatives.
During the meeting, issues of developing the region's potential were also discussed.
The parties discussed Turkmenistan's initiatives in the field of tourism and transport and reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting ECO goals and strengthening regional cooperation next year.
