Turkmenistan

1. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with a delegation headed by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev in Ashgabat. The year 2024 is a landmark year for Turkmenistan in the Turkic-speaking world. Topical issues of cooperation and promising areas of partnership were put on the agenda of the meeting. Special attention at the meeting was paid to the organization of upcoming joint events aimed at promoting the creative work of Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural significance of the city of Anau.

2. A Turkmen delegation takes part in a training seminar on combating illicit cross-border trafficking of cultural property in Antalya. The Turkmen delegation includes the Executive Secretary of the National Committee of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, as well as representatives of the State Border Service, the State Customs Service and the State Museum of Turkmenistan. Since September 2022, Turkmenistan has been a member of the UNESCO International Convention “on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property” and has established itself as an active partner in this field.

3. At the initiative of the parents' committee, a two-day training on first aid rules was organized for the 9th grade staff of the Joint Turkmen-Russian Pushkin General Education School. The training was conducted by instructors of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. During practical exercises, ninth-graders determined the degree of this or that trauma, learned to render aid in case of heart attack, stroke, burns, poisoning and even snake and animal bites.

4. Turkmen Ambassador to Tokyo Bayramov and Philippine Ambassador to Japan Milen Garcia-Albano discussed prospects for further cooperation at the meeting. The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached in Manila in August this year. The focus was on the organization of high-level mutual visits, establishment of inter-parliamentary cooperation, development of trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

6. At the Asia-Pacific Conference on Digital Inclusion and Transformation held in Astana under the auspices of ESCAP, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan held an important meeting with their Kazakh colleagues. The key outcome of the talks was a declaration of the two countries' intention to join efforts in the space sector. The parties agreed to develop specific proposals for joint launch of space satellites by the end of 2024.

7. The first direct flight from the Chinese city of Urumqi landed at Yerevan Airport, marking the beginning of regular air communication between Armenia and China. This historic event is the result of many years of work and opens a new chapter in the relations between the two countries. Flights on the Urumqi-Yerevan-Urumqi route will be operated twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It is expected that the new air service will contribute to the growth of passenger traffic, development of educational and cultural contacts, as well as strengthening of business cooperation between the two nations.

Sport

8. Turkmenistan's under-20 youth national soccer team will hold a training camp in the Spanish city of Murcia from September 4 to 15 in preparation for the qualifying matches of the Asian Cup 2025. The team, led by head coach Dovletmurad Annayev, plans to play two friendly matches: September 7 against Wales and September 9 against the Faroe Islands. Before leaving for Spain, the national team held the first training sessions on the adjacent fields of the stadium “Ashgabat”.

9. “Kitchee” on the road with a score of 2:2 played a draw with “North District” in the first round of the Hong Kong Premier League soccer match. Uzbek forward Sherzod Temirov and Brazilian Juninho scored goals for “Kitchee”. “Kitchee’s” Turkmen midfielder Ruslan Mingazov was in the starting lineup and played the full match, but did not score. In the next round on September 14, “Kitchee” will host “Southern District” at home.

10. The national futsal team of Turkmenistan arrived in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the training camp. Within the framework of the training, Yakub Ovezov's team will play two international friendly matches: September 5 against Saudi Arabia and September 7 against France. The Turkmen team has already started training at the training camp in Dubai.
