Representatives of Turkmenistan take part in the XIII International Festival “Sharq Taronalari” (“Melodies of the East”), the grand opening of which took place in Samarkand on August 26.

According to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the country is represented at the festival by teachers of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva Saparmyrat Amanmyradov (gyjak), Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, head of the orchestra of folk musical instruments Omar Igamov and 4th year student of the conservatory Allamyrat Muhammetgulyev (gargy tuyduk).

One of the largest festivals in Central Asia, held under the auspices of UNESCO, brought together participants from more than 70 countries.

The busy program of the music forum includes performances by artists at various venues in Samarkand and a conference on the topic “Musical culture of the peoples of the East: principles of creative integration in the processes of globalization”.

Also, within the framework of the festival, a competition was organized in 2 areas:

professional (classical) folk music and songs;

music and songs of modern composers.

The festival, which will end on August 30, is designed to support talented youth in the field of music and singing, expand international creative connections and promote ideas of peace, friendship and mutual understanding.
