The Chinese company Xiaomi is preparing to release a unique smartphone codenamed Zhuque in 2025. The device will be distinguished by the absence of physical buttons and an invisible front camera, Mail.ru reports with reference to smartprix.
Instead of traditional buttons, Zhuque may use gesture or voice control, capacitive buttons with pressure sensitivity, or touch panels on the sides. The front camera will be hidden under the screen, while Xiaomi promises to improve the quality of shooting and make the camera completely invisible.
The smartphone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor, manufactured using a 3nm process technology. This chip is expected to arrive in October 2024 and will power most flagship Android devices in 2025.
Zhuque can be seen as a continuation of the Mi MIX Alpha concept presented by Xiaomi five years ago. That smartphone featured an “infinite” screen that occupied even the back panel and no visible buttons or cameras, but never went on sale due to manufacturing difficulties.
