1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated young dutarists on their participation in the final round of the bagshy-musician competition (“Play, bagshy!”), which is being held within the framework of the competition for the “Golden Age of Turkmen” Prize. The head of state wished the finalists of the competition good health, happiness and creative achievements in enriching the national art of singing and music with new works.
2. On August 27, the opening of the “Turkmen-Iranian specialized exhibition of fashion and clothing” will take place in the exhibition hall of the Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The event is organized by the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan jointly with the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan. The exhibition will feature high-quality products from textile enterprises and famous brands of both countries. Of particular interest is the master class held by an Iranian master of arts. The exhibition will last until August 29.
3. The Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan held a cultural event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East, Magtymguly Fragi. The event was attended by a delegation from Turkmenistan. The event began in the square of the Astrakhan State University - a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Magtymguly Fragi took place. After that, the event continued with a performance by a creative group led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdyev, who performed songs based on the poems of Magtymguly.
4. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova held a meeting with the new US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood. The parties discussed trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The positive dynamics of the development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the United States based on the principles of mutual respect and trust were noted.
5. The Kopetdag State Nature Reserve celebrated its 48th anniversary. The event was held with the support of public associations. During a short meeting, the main areas of work of the reserve were presented, where a new forestry experimental site was recently opened on the territory of the Germab section of Bahcha. 17 of the best employees of the reserve were presented with valuable gifts from the organizers.

6. A yurt has appeared in Nukus, Uzbekistan, which has earned a place in the Guinness World Records. This structure, located in the “Ok kush” complex, is recognized as the largest non-collapsible yurt in the world with a diameter of 40,5 meters and a height of 22 meters. The “Ok kush” complex is spread over an area of 50 hectares and includes an exhibition of various types of yurts, including examples from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Bashkortostan.
7. During excavations in the ancient city of Laodicea, located in the Turkish province of Denizli, archaeologists made a sensational discovery. A group of sculptures depicting a scene from Homer's “Odyssey” with the sea monster Scylla was found during the restoration of the Western Theater. The find is especially valuable due to the well-preserved original paint on the sculptures, which is rare for artifacts of this age. It is assumed that the sculptures were part of theatrical productions and were located on the second tier of the Western Theater, which probably contributed to the preservation of the paint.

8. The Turkmenistan U17 national team defeated their peers from Kyrgyzstan with a score of 2:0 in the match for 5th place at the Central Asian Football Association Championship in Dushanbe. Goals were scored by Kakamyrat Babayev from the penalty spot in the 17th minute and Muhammedali Nasyrov in the 49th minute. This victory permitted the Turkmen team to finish its debut performance at the CAFA U-17 tournament in fifth place. The CAFA U-17 tournament became an important stage in the preparation of the youth team of Turkmenistan for the upcoming qualifying round of the 2025 Asian Cup.
9. The Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan plans to organize joint training camps of the national team with Riga clubs in preparation for international tournaments. The joint camps will be a key stage in the preparation of Turkmen hockey players for the IX Asian Winter Games, which will be held from February 7 to 14, 2025 in Harbin, China, and the World Championship of the III group “A” division, which will be held in Istanbul from April 21 to 27, 2025.
10. On October 26, the Turkmen football club “Arkadag” will play its first ever match in the AFC Challenge League.
