A court in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) has imposed a fine of 5000 dirhams (about 1400 USD) on a young woman who used her husband's clothes and perfume to wash the floors during a domestic dispute, russianemirates.com reports.
The incident occurred in a family where both spouses are about 20 years old and they are raising two daughters. According to the case materials, the woman herself confessed to the crime during the investigation. Her confession was supported by her husband's testimony and photographs of the damaged property.
The husband's legal representative said the evidence collected, including video and photographic evidence, as well as the defendant's own confession, was sufficient to warrant a sentencing decision.
The misdemeanor court not only imposed a fine, but also ordered the woman to pay all legal costs associated with the case.
